The club has appointed Simon Bate as the Head Men's Coach for the 2010 season. Simon played for the premier men’s side for over a decade from the mid 90’s. After retiring from playing he moved in to coaching and is a NZ Hockey Level 2 coach. He was a part of the Canterbury Cavaliers management team in 2004/05, as trainer and analyst, co-coach of the Canterbury U18 team 2006/07/08 and co-coach of the successful European Hockey Development Tour in 2007 to the Netherlands and Malaysia.

Spear-heading the return of the women's top team will be Todd Robinson, moving to Christchurch from California in February. Todd represented the USA in the U16, U18 and U21 USA National squads before graduating to the USA Men's National Squad. He served as Head Women's Coach at California Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo for five years.
